A forward-looking public discussion on the prospects for global prosperity and development, concluding the two-day conference ‘Modern Inquiries into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations’. This forum brings together leading scholars to explore key issues in future global development, building on 250 years of economic thought since Adam Smith’s seminal work. Panellists Sir Tim Besley (LSE), Matthew Agarwala (Sussex), and Jane Humphries (Oxford) will discuss contemporary challenges and opportunities for international prosperity, chaired by Gillian Tett (Provost, King’s College Cambridge). Free and open to the public. Students are especially welcome. The session will be recorded and made available on YouTube following the event.
