GST - Geometric spectral theory and applications

We consider some implications of the two-term Weyl asymptotic formula for the Laplacian, and its connection to the Euclidean geometric isoperimetric inequality. We derive what might be seen as proof-of-concept results which we then illustrate with several quantitative (and mostly sharp) results. This is based on joint work with Isabel Salavessa, Rui Wang and Miguel Gama.

This talk is part of the Isaac Newton Institute Seminar Series series.
