Despite nearly two decades of intense study and a good understanding of the ground state physics, the effect of interactions on Anderson localization at high energy remain debated, even in one dimension. Can localization persist, giving rise to a genuine non-ergodic many-body localized phase? After recalling the main question and highlighting some elements of the current state of the field, I will share two short stories. The first will focus on an instability in the somewhat overlooked regime of weak interactions, and the second on large two-body correlations signaling long-range cat-like states deep in the many-body localized regime.
