BIDW03 - The Many Faces of Boundaries, Impurities, and Defects We show how a diagrammatic calculus for spherical fusion categories, bimodule categories with bimodule traces and bimodule functors and bimodule natural transformations can be used to define state sum invariants for 3-manifolds with defects that generalise the usual Turaev-Viro-Barrett-Westbury state sum invariants of 3-manifolds.Reference:C.
