If you have a question about this talk, please contact nobody. BIDW03 - The Many Faces of Boundaries, Impurities, and Defects Generalized symmetries correspond to topological defects and operators. Finite generalized symmetries can be studied using a topological symmetry theory (SymTFT) in one higher dimensions. Various groups have recently proposed a generalization of this picture to include also continuous symmetries. In this talk I will review this construction and discuss some recent applications in the context of non-linear realizations of continuous symmetries and spontaneous symmetry breaking.
