This talk will provide an overview of the operations behind the CSD3 , the Cambridge Service for Data-Driven Discovery. This High Performance Computer is a multi-generation project at Cambridge providing scientific compute resource to the university, academic and industrial partners, and other universities as a Tier 2 system. It was recently expanded to include Dawn, part of the UK’s AI Research Resource (AIRR).

This presentation will cover operation aspects such as cooling methods of the datacentre, what powers it, and at the hardware inside the Cambridge HPC . Astrid is a member of the platforms team who works closely with RSEs in Research Computing Services to keep this system running, and functional for its users.
