If you have a question about this talk, please contact jh2603. Restoration can play an important role in addressing the challenges of biodiversity loss, land degradation and climate change while supporting ecosystem services and improving overall human well-being. The three primary barriers to scaling up restoration in Europe were identified as funding, conflicting stakeholder interests, and the absence of an enabling policy environment that prioritises restoration. To address these key barriers, the Convening for Restoration project (2023-2025), funded by the Endangered Landscapes and Seascapes Programme, and implemented by a consortium comprising of UNEP -WCMC, BirdLife International and RSPB , aimed to convene diverse stakeholders focused on stakeholder engagement, unlocking funding for restoration, and an enabling policy environment for restoration. With the project wrapping up at the end of July 2025, the project team are looking forward to sharing the key insights from not just the project but also the experience of convening diverse groups of stakeholders across academia, restoration practitioners, NGOs, policy and finance sector with all the CCI members.
