If you have a question about this talk, please contact nobody. TGAW01 - Crossed products and groupoid C*-algebras Cartan subalgebras and C-diagonals in C-algebras (motivated by Cartans in von Neumann algebras) build a bridge between C-algebras and topological dynamics, which led to striking results regarding the existence of Cartans/C-diagonals in classifiable C-algebras. In particular, this connection was used to construct examples of C-diagonals in the Jiang-Su algebra Z. In this talk, I will give the idea of how to construct a new, tractable C-diagonal in Z using solely C-algebraic techniques. This is based on joint work with Wilhelm Winter.
