NPCW06 - Non-positive curvature and applications

Taking inspiration from hyperbolic geometry, I will describe the beautiful world of discrete subgroups of Lie groups of higher rank. Along the way we will see connections to geometric structures, dynamical systems, Markov numbers, (non-commutative) cluster algebras, positivity and other interesting mathematical objects.
