Abstract
Blood stem and progenitor cells ensure blood production (termed haematopoiesis) for a lifetime; this is achieved by balancing self-renewal and differentiation. However, how endogenous molecules can impact on this balance is still a matter of study. The scope of my project is to uncover the effects of the thyroid hormone on this critical process, leveraging on both cellular cultures and mouse models.
