- 👤 Speaker: Ghada Al-Yaqout (Faculty of Education, University of Cambridge)
- 📅 Date & Time: Wednesday 24 February 2010, 17:00 - 18:30
- 📍 Venue: Auditorium in Mary Allan Building, Homerton College, Cambridge
Abstract
This talk will discuss the concept of picturebook series, with a specific focus on the narrative components of paratexts and intertextuality. The talk lies on the premise that picturebook series can be defined, not only by their particular ‘internal’ narrative components, related to the two independent terms that shape the form; but also through their paratextual and intertextual components. These textual particulars will be demonstrated to suggest, and reveal their status as series texts.
Series This talk is part of the Centre for Research in Children's Literature at Cambridge series.
