MMVW02 - Collective Behaviour

We will see how we can quantitatively describe the collective behavior of sheep groups and understand the emergence of various collective behaviors from simple imitation rules that allow the group to reach consensus, develop collective strategies such as democratic leadership, and display collective intelligence. The developed ideas may prove useful to describe other animal groups, including humans.  References: Luis Gomez-Nava, Richard Bon, Fernando Peruani, Nature Physics 18, 1494 (2022)
