Dr Schooling is director of the Cambridge Centre for Smart Infrastructure and Construction, an Innovation and Knowledge Centre funded by EPSRC , Innovate UK and Industry Partners, focussed on the development of smart infrastructure and data-driven solutions for civil infrastructure – the transport, energy, water and communications systems that form the arteries of our cities and communities. Her lecture will explore what infrastructure is, why it matters, and how the ‘fourth industrial revolution’ is helping engineers make sure it is fit for the 21st century and beyond.
