The most common is the crescent-shaped dune, called Barchan, whose mid-line could be assumed to behave as a two-dimensional dune. They can be found in some environments, such as deserts, rivers, or even on the surface of Mars. In this study, we compare the morphology of the midline of barchans with 2D dunes and track the evolution of dunes under bi-modal changes in the flow direction. In addition, it will be presented results from dunes interacting with static objects and how different topographies can affect dunes’ morphology. This talk is part of the G.K.
