If you have a question about this talk, please contact Dhruv Ranganathan. One of the many insights provided by Givental is that complicated relationships in Gromov-Witten theory can often be expressed as simple linear symplectic transformations of a certain symplectic vector space. I will explain this approach and briefly touch on some past and ongoing work which fits in this framework, relating to the abelian/non-abelian correspondence and the crepant transformation conjecture.
