We consider the kinetic Fokker-Planck equation with rough coefficients, which is a linear counterpart of the Landau equation and is formally hypoelliptic of type II in Hörmander’s terminology. Complementing the equation with inflow or reflection boundary conditions in a bounded domain, we will discuss the renormalization and regularization properties of the solutions up to the boundary.
