I will discuss measurements of hadronic event-shape variables in multi-jet events in proton-proton collisions using the ATLAS detector. In addition to the classical variables, the transverse energy-energy correlations and their associated azimuthal asymmetry are presented. These results provide a precision test of perturbative Quantum Chromodynamics at large momentum transfers. From a comparison of data with theory, the strong coupling constant is extracted at NLO accuracy. Nowadays, NNLO predictions are available for observables requiring three jets in the final state. Thus, alpha_s determinations from multi-jet measurements can be advanced to NNLO accuracy.
