The Engineering Design Centre (EDC) has been researching Inclusive Design for over 15 years, as well as training and embedding the tools and methods into companies’ product or service design and development processes. Most recently the EDC has been working with Siemens Mobility and Hitachi Rail Europe in the Rail Sector to with the goal of making rail travel more inclusive for passengers. This talk will highlight some of the Inclusive Design tools and processes, show an example case study of an inclusive intervention, in addition to describing how a centre for Inclusive Passenger Experience could be created through rail industry funding and what that could look like.
