Meditation: An ancient practice that helps us cope with stress from the modern world

This talk is on how to apply meditation in our daily lives. It will be followed by a guided meditation and Q&A.

This is part of the annual Vesak celebration organized by Cambridge University Buddhist Society to commemorate the birth, enlightenment and the Parinibbana of the Buddha. You are welcome to attend just the talk, or the whole event. The programme is below:

  • 9:00 am – Start, introduction to Vesak and short chanting
  • 9:30 am – Talk, Q&A and meditation (Ven. Prami Dhanissaro)
  • 10:45 am – Meal offering to the venerable monks
  • 11:30 am – Lunch for lay people
  • 12:30 am – Blessing by the venerable monks and end of the programme

After offering lunch to the venerable monks, the lay participants will share the meal. You are invited to bring food to offer to the monks and for sharing. Vegetarian food is preferred.

This event is free and open to all.
