Enterprise Tuesday is a series of FREE evening lectures and networking sessions managed by the Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning (CfEL) which runs during the Michaelmas and Lent terms. The aim is to inspire people to pursue entrepreneurial ambitions and build basic business skills. CfEL’s Enterprise Tuesday is a major focus on entrepreneurship for the University demonstrating the application of learning to solve problems and create businesses. It is also coordinated with the Cambridge University Entrepreneurs (CUE) business creation competitions. Please register online at http://www.cfel.jbs.cam.ac.uk/programmes/enterprisetuesday/register.html This year, the guest speakers include Prof Andy Hopper, Head of the Computer Laboratory, Chairman of RealVNC and Ubisense; Dr Shamus Husheer, CEO of Cambridge Temperature Concepts; Dr David Brown FRSC , MD of Alchemy Biomedical Consulting; David Cleevely, Founder of Analysys and Co-Founder of Abcam; Sherry Coutu, Angel Investor and Advisory Board Member of LinkedIn; Andy Richards, serial biotechnology entrepreneur and business angel; Gerald Avison, Chairman of TTP Group; and Claire Ruskin, Interim CEO of Cambridge Network and member of PA Consulting Management Group. CfEL is delighted to have gained sponsorship for this series from two Cambridge companies: Cambridge Resolution and ARM . A number of student societies and external organisations also support the series through assisting with session registration, logistics and offering additional discussion groups. These are: Beyond Profit; Cambridge University Technology and Enterprise Club (CUTEC); Cambridge University Entrepreneurs (CUE); Cambridge University Consulting Society (CUCS); The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE); and the Chartered Institute of Marketing. Enterprise Tuesday Weekly Format: Registration: 18:00 to 18:30 Please register online before attending the session. We advise attendees to arrive as early as possible in order to ensure a seat (particularly in Michaelmas Term). Lecture: 18:30 to 20:00 The lectures will cover some of the practical skills that are needed to successfully commercialise an idea. These lectures are delivered by a number of successful and experienced entrepreneurs. Networking: 20:00 to 21:00 This represents an opportunity to network with guest speakers and other aspiring entrepreneurs.
