DESCRIPTION:Glassy materials are those in which the diffusive
motion of atoms and molecules becomes very slow\,
when the temperature is reduced. There a range of
simple physical models that aim to reproduce and
explain the phenomena that occur in such materials
. We analyse dynamical fluctuations in some of th
ese models using large deviation theory. This rev
eals several dynamical phase transitions. We anal
yse some properties of these phase transitions and
discuss their implications for theories of the gl
 ass transition.
