DESCRIPTION:\nDiffusion processes are commonly used in image p
rocessing. In particular\, complex diffusion model
s have been successfully applied in medical imagin
g denosing. The interpretation of a complex diffus
ion equation as a cross-diffusion system motivates
the introduction of more general models of this t
ype and their study in the context of image proces
sing. In this talk we will discuss the use of line
ar and nonlinear cross-diffusion systems to perfor
m image restoration. The use of two scalar fields
has the goal of distributing the features of the i
mage and governing their relations. Special attent
ion will be given to the well-posedness\, scale-sp
ace properties and long time behaviour of the mode
ls. This talk is a report of a recent work in coll
aboration with Adérito Araújo\, Eduardo Custa and
 Ángel Durán.\n
