 h"\n\nMeeting food demand at least cost to wild sp
 ecies and the benefits they provide us is one of t
 his century’s greatest challenges. Is it better to
  adopt wildlife-friendly on-farm practices (land s
 haring)\, or to maximise farm yields and spare oth
 er land for conservation (land sparing)\, or somet
 hing in between?\n\nHis talk will describe a model
  for evaluating these and intermediate strategies\
 , parameterise this for five parts of the world an
 d several different taxa\, extend the analysis to 
 consider the impact of land sparing on greenhouse 
 gas emissions\, and begin to explore policy mechan
 isms for those land-use strategies which hold most
  promise for nature.\n
