DESCRIPTION:Prof. Woods’ work involves defining the important
processes in human neurodevelopment. He focuses on
Mendelian disorders of painlessness and of excess
pain. His research encompasses peripheral nocicep
tor development\, including the potential to gener
ate novel analgesics. He also looks into the genet
ic factors that affect pain threshold\, the risk o
f developing neuropathic pain as well as response
to analgesics. This promises to be a great talk an
d one not to be missed! Relevant for MIMS\, NHB an
d Part II Genetics\, Neuro and Path CGD.\n\n***Ref
reshments will be provided!***\n\nSource: Geoff Wo
