DESCRIPTION:SHIM (Screening Histories Information Manager) is 
 a national system for determining the correct scre
 ening status for every diagnosis of breast cancer 
 in women within the screening age range. The syste
 m collects data from the Cancer Registration Servi
 ce and from Breast Cancer Screening Units then und
 ertakes an automated analysis of the screening his
 tories. Staff in Quality Assurance Reference Centr
 es can review the data and\, if necessary\, overri
 de the allocated screening status before returning
  the results to the Registration Service.\n\nToday
 ’s seminar will look at how the system was built\,
  from a technical rather than clinical point of vi
 ew\, and may include discussion of\n-	Information
