DESCRIPTION:Brendan Simms is Professor of the History of International Rel
 ations at the University of Cambridge. Today he tells the story of how the
  Second Light Battalion of the King's German Legion held off Napoleon at W
 aterloo long enough to give the Prussians time to come up. He begins with 
 an account of the origins of this Anglo-German hybrid\, moves on to a desc
 ription of the dramatic events of 18 June 1815\, and concludes with a disc
 ussion of their legacy today.
