DESCRIPTION:The network-as-a-service project (www.naas-project.org) is dev
eloping hardware and software tools to facilitate the creation of applicat
ion-level middleboxes: that is\, middleboxes that are not confined to usin
g network-level primitives (such as packets)\; rather they can operate on
application-level datastructures. We seek to expose a programming model th
at is both intuitive and performance-friendly. In this talk I'll describe
our current model and the constraints that it's designed to meet.\n(This w
ork is being done as part of the NaaS project and draws from the ideas of
 the whole team.)
