DESCRIPTION:Electron-electron interaction effects in one-dimensional quant
um wires are\nmuch less well understood than interactions in zero- or two-
dimensional\nsystems. One effect in particular that continues to attract
interest is the\n`0.7 Structure'. I will briefly discuss the 0.7 Structure
\, before presenting\nseveral other new interaction effects in GaAs/AlGaAs
quantum wires\,\noccurring in high in-plane magnetic fields\, and at zero
magnetic field. I\nwill then explain how these effects relate to eachothe
r\, and how they may\nhelp to explain the origin of the 0.7 Structure.\n
