DESCRIPTION:Trace inequalities\, and inequalities in general\,
play a major role in Analysis. They can help us e
stimate decay and remainder terms\, solve complica
ted minimization problems and even show greater re
gularity of a given function. The most interesting
of these inequalities are ones that are sharp\, i
.e. ones that provide the best possible informatio
n. \nIn this talk I will discuss a newly discovere
d sharp inequality connecting between a trace of a
function and its fractional Laplacian. We will al
so find the appropriate geometrical space where th
e inequality is still valid and classify its minim
izers completely.\nThis talk is based on a joint w
ork with Prof. Michael Loss.
