DESCRIPTION:The High Commissioner for Canada\, Mr Gordon Campb
 ell\, will be speaking at the Cambridge Union Soci
 ety on *Canada in a changing world*. This talk rep
 resents the High Commissioner's first public appea
 rance at the University of Cambridge since taking 
 office in September\, 2011. The talk will be of in
 terest to anyone in the Cambridge community intere
 sted in foreign policy\, especially as it relates 
 to Canada-UK relations. \n\nThis highly anticipate
 d talk will be followed by responses from Dr. Mich
 ael Bravo\, a historian of science and public poli
 cy from the Scott Polar Research Institute\, and P
 rofessor Brian Cheffins\, a corporate law scholar 
 from the Faculty of Law. The event will be chaired
  by Dr. Donald Wright\, a political historian from
  the University of New Brunswick.\n\nFollowing the
  public talk\, a formal dinner will be held at Old
  Hall\, the original dining hall for Queen's Colle

 on Campbell*\n\nFormerly the Mayor of Vancouver (1
 986-1993) and Premier of British Columbia (2001-20
 11)\, Mr Gordon Campbell assumed his responsibilit
 ies as Canadian High Commissioner to the UK in Sep
 tember 2011.\n\nBorn in Vancouver\, Mr Campbell at
 tended Dartmouth College in New Hampshire to study
  English and Urban Studies and Simon Fraser Univer
 sity in Vancouver where he acquired an MBA.\n\nHe 
 worked with Canadian University Service Overseas i
 n Nigeria in the early seventies. He returned to C
 anada and worked as an Executive Assistant to Vanc
 ouver Mayor Art Phillips from 1972 to 1976.\n\nMr 
 Campbell is married to Nancy Campbell\, and they h
