DESCRIPTION:In this talk I will focus on two transnational org
anisations - the Congress for Cultural Freedom (CC
 F) and the United Nations Educational\, Scientific
and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) - and the ways
these overtly political organisations sought to p
rovide the conceptual framework and institutional
niche(s) for history of science / science studies
in the age of Cold War. I will ask what legacy(ies
) did these undertakings leave and will attempt to
suggest some answers to this question.\n\nSpeaker
