DESCRIPTION:Optimal control problems governed by mixed ellipti
 c\nvariational inequalities arising in flows of Bi
 ngham viscoplastic\nmaterials are investigated. A 
 family of Huber type regularized control\nproblems
  is introduced and convergence of the regularized 
 solutions towards the original one is verified. An
  optimality system for the original control proble
 m is obtained as limit of the regularized ones. Fo
 r the solution of the regularized optimality syste
 ms\, semismooth Newton methods are considered. Num
 erical algorithms\, in the form of active set stra
 tegies\, will be described and convergence propert
 ies\, by means of numerical examples\, presented.
