DESCRIPTION:Dear members of the Screen Media and Cultures community\,I hop
 e that this message finds you well. As the Fellow and Director of Studies 
 in Management in Magdalene College\, I am responsible for the organization
  of the annual “Magdalene College – Investec Lecture in Business”. T
 his large scale\, high-profile college initiative aims to invite distingui
 shed Directors and CEOs of major international corporations to deliver ins
 ightful and provocative lectures on a theme of their own choosing related 
 to their experience of the business world.\n\nI believe that this year’s
  lecture will be of particular interest to you.\n\nThe third Magdalene Col
 lege – Investec Lecture in Business\, by Michael Grade\, Chairman of Pin
 ewood Shepperton Film Studios Plc\, Ocado Plc and James Grant Group Ltd\, 
 is taking place on Wednesday 24 November 2010 in Cripps Court\, Magdalene 
 College. I very much hope that you can attend what promises to be a moment
 ous lecture. Michael Grade is a world-class speaker\, and a living legend 
 of the television and entertainment world. On 24th November in Magdalene C
 ollege\, he will put forward to us and to the world media a very provocati
 ve\, controversial and forward looking proposal to radically reform the cu
 rrent broadcasting landscape.\n\nPlease find the details of the lecture be

 Michael Grade will put forward a radical proposal to ensure plurality with

 rt biography: Born in London in 1943\, Michael Grade was educated at Stowe
  and St Dunstan’s College. After working as a sports columnist on the Da
 ily Mirror\, he was appointed joint MD of the London Management talent age
 ncy. In 1973\, he became Head of Entertainment and Director of Programmes 
 at LWT\, leaving in 1981 to become President of Embassy Television in the 
 USA. He moved back to London in 1984 to join the BBC\, first as Controller
  of BBC1\, then as Director of Programmes in 1986 and Managing Director BB
 C Television Designate in 1987. Michael Grade left the BBC in 1987 to beco
 me Chief Executive of Channel 4\, a post he held for almost 10 years. He l
 eft in 1997 to become Chairman and Chief Executive of The First Leisure Co
 rporation. He became Chairman of Pinewood Shepperton Film Studios Plc in 2
 000\, and of the national lottery operator Camelot. In 2004\, Michael Grad
 e relinquished the Chairmanship of Camelot to become Chairman of the BBC B
 oard of Governors. He left the BBC in 2007 to become Executive Chairman of
  ITV Plc\, a post he held until the end of 2009. \n \nPlease RSVP by Thurs
