DESCRIPTION:We must limit climate change to avoid severe conse
quences. This talk will address the question “How?
”. Of course this is one of humanity’s grand chall
enges\, and a complete answer may be elusive. Neve
rtheless\, thinking clearly about the problem enab
les us to identify certain properties that a succe
ssful solution must have. These include a strong f
ramework of cooperation and pricing of carbon. I’l
l discuss the nature of the problem\, cooperation\
, the ethical basis\, and the relation to the Pari
 s Agreement. If time permits\, I’ll discuss a conc
rete proposal\, which I call the “Equitable Atmosp
 here Climate Cooperative” (EACC).
