DESCRIPTION:Sex chromosomes represent the only chromosome pair
that differ between males and females\, and as su
ch are responsible for the myriad sexual dimorphis
ms observed in mammals. However\, relative to the
rest of the genome\, their biology remains under e
xplored. In this talk\, I will describe how the se
x chromosomes appeared during mammalian evolution\
, the mechanisms by which they regulate their most
celebrated role in germline development\, and the
ir contribution to male-female differences in dise
 ase.
