DESCRIPTION:This seminar explores experiences from Sweden and 
 the International Collaboration project with Jorda
 n on integrating theory and practice in Nursing Ed
 ucation trough drama. \nThe gap between theory and
  practice is a well-known international problem wi
 thin Nursing Education. This has consequences for 
 the students learning as it influences their abili
 ty to integrate theory and practice in a meaningfu
 l and reflective way. This problematic condition r
 equires suitable pedagogical methods in Nursing Ed
 ucation. \n\nDr Lepp is Associate Professor and Di
 rector of Postgraduate Studies at the Institute of
  Health and Care Sciences\, The Sahlgrenska Academ
 y\, University of Gothenburg\, Sweden. She is the 
 current president of the Tau Omega Chapter\, Sigma
  Theta Tau International (STTI)\, Honor Society of
  Nursing in Gothenburg. She is the associate Edito
 r of Scandinavian Journal of Caring Sciences\, a l
 eading International Health Sciences Journal. \nSh
 e has an international reputation in drama in educ
 ation and applied theatre in professional health c
 are education. For over twenty years she has invol
 ved drama in her work as a researcher and consulta
 nt involving students\, patients\, nurses and teac
 hers of nursing\, as well as schoolteachers. She w
 as a key researcher in the international DRACON (D
 rama and Conflict Management) project between 1994
 -2005. She was Special Interest Group leader at th
 e IDEA conference in 2001 (Norway)\, 2004 (Canada)
  and 2007 (Hongkong). She is the co-author of “Dra
 ma for Life. Stories of Adult Learning and Empower
 ment”. \n
