DESCRIPTION:Multicellular organisms are composed of cells and 
 tissues with identical genomes but different prope
 rties and functions. They all develop from one cel
 l to form multicellular structures of astounding c
 omplexity. During development\, in a series of spa
 tio-temporal coordinated steps\, cells differentia
 te into different cell types and establish tissue-
 scale architectures and functions. Throughout life
 \, continuous tissue renewal and regeneration is r
 equired for tissue homeostasis\, which also requir
 es fine-tuned spatio-temporal coordination of cell
 s. I will discuss how cellular interactions genera
 te the specific contexts and spatio-temporal coord
 ination underlying development and regeneration an
 d how we specifically investigate what are the mol
 ecular and physical mechanisms that allow a cell\,
  in a tissue\, to sense its complex environment\, 
 to take individual coordinated decisions. Moreover
 \, I will discuss the molecular mechanisms of inte
 stinal organoid self-organization and the role of 
 cell-to-cell variability in populations of differe
 ntiating cells during symmetry breaking.\n\nTwitte
