 his talk centres on "symmetry protected low-scale 
 seesaw models"\, minimal extensions of the Standar
 d Model and motivated by neutrino oscillations. A 
 comprehensive overview over past\, present\, and f
 uture searches for heavy neutrinos at particle col
 liders is presented. Moreover\, opportunities of t
 esting this class of models at neutrino experiment
 s are discussed\, with emphasis on the MiniBooNE a
 nomaly. Last but not least\, the concept of using 
 cosmic rays for new physics searches is outlined.
