DESCRIPTION:The Standard Model (SM) of particle physics encode
s our current understanding of elementary particle
 s. Despite having been tested by many experiments
to a high level of accuracy\, no significant devi
ations from SM predictions have been observed so f
ar. With the start of the Large Hadron Collider (L
HC) at CERN\, particle physics entered a new era.
The most sensational achievement of the LHC has be
en the detection of the Higgs boson. Although we m
ay think that all pieces of the big jigsaw puzzle
of Nature have now been revealed\, astrophysical o
bservation and our modern understanding of quantum
field theories tell us that the SM is necessarily
incomplete and cannot be valid up to any large sc
ales. In this talk I will show how\nthe mathematic
s of Effective Field Theories and the wealth of ex
perimental data from LHC open a new fascinating jo
urney exploring new physics scenarios beyond the S
 tandard Model.
