DESCRIPTION:Euler was the first mathematician to develop a sys
tematic theory of \ndivergent series\, anticipati
ng by over hundred years summation \nprocedures o
f Abel\, Borel\, and others. This talk discusses a
type of \nseries that is summable by Borel's met
hod which in fact is what Euler \ndid and obtaine
d a continued fraction for its value. The continue
d \nfractions are not the usual ones and have int
erested many\, including \nRamanujan. The talk is
based on joint work with Trond Digernes of \nTro
ndheim University.
