DESCRIPTION:\n\n\nLinking thermodynamic variables like tempera
ture and the measure of chaos\, the Lyapunov expon
ents\, is a question of fundamental importance in
many-body systems. By using nonlinear fluid equati
ons in \;one and three dimensions\, we show th
at in thermalized flows that the Lyapunov exponent
scales as the square-root of the temperature\, in
agreement with results from frustrated spin syste
ms. This suggests an underlying universality and p
rovides evidence for recent conjectures on the the
rmal scaling of the Lyapunov exponent. We also rec
oncile seemingly disparate effects&mdash\;equilibr
ation on one hand and pushing systems out of equil
ibrium on the other&mdash\;of many-body chaos by r
elating the two through the dynamical structures o
f the flow.\nIn the second half of the talk\, I wi
ll discuss recent results on how thermalisation ca
n be suppressed to obtain (numerical) estimates fo
r and against blow-ups. \;\nThis work is done
with Sugan Murugan\, Dheeraj Kumar and Subhro Bhat
tacharjee.\n\n\n
