DESCRIPTION:Marta Costa and Laura Fachal\, will introduce Step
 Wide\, a leadership programme developed by postdoc
 s for cis and trans women postdocs. Current initia
 tives to bridge the gender gap focus on academic s
 taff\, with little support for those trying to rea
 ch that particular career stage. StepWide was desi
 gned to question and broaden current and constrain
 ed ideas about leadership and develop the confiden
 ce and skills that will allow women postdocs to in
 crease their visibility\, improving promotion and 
 progression\n\nMarta Costa is a Senior Research As
 sociate at the Department of Zoology working on cr
 eating a map of the nervous system of fruit flies.
  She did her undergraduate in Biology in Lisbon\, 
 Portugal\, followed by an MSc in Neuroscience at U
 CL. She then moved to Cambridge for her PhD\, foll
 owed by a postdoc. She is also a Research Associat
 e at Lucy Cavendish College.\n\nLaura Fachal is a 
 Senior Staff Scientist at Wellcome Sanger Institut
 e. She earned her BS in Veterinary\, MSc in Biotec
 hnology and PhD from University of Santiago de Com
 postela\, Spain. She completed her postdoc at the 
 Centre for Cancer Genetic Epidemiology\, Universit
 y of Cambridge. She is also a Research Associate a
