DESCRIPTION:_To commemorate the centenary of the passing of 'Abdu'l-Bahá\
 , the Cambridge University Bahá'í Society has arranged online talks by e
 ight international speakers. Each speaker will focus on one theme based on
  the teachings and life of this unique individual and its relevance to our
  world today. This is the sixth talk in the series._\n\n*From "What? A Wom
 an?" to "What a Woman!" The Role of 'Abdu'l-Bahá in the Advancement of Wo
 men*\n\n'Abdu'l-Bahá stated that gender equality was not simply righting 
 historical social injustices against women\, but the advancement of women 
 would serve as a key factor in wide-ranging societal changes that would he
 lp develop a new civilization.\n\nWendi Momen is a social activist and adv
 ocate\, focusing on a cluster of issues that promote social justice: the a
 dvancement of women\, poverty eradication\, health\, criminal justice\, in
 terfaith harmony\, housing\, the environment and business ethics. She is c
 hair of Trustees of the National Alliance of Women’s Organisations\, a T
 rustee and secretary of Widows Rights International\, and Executive Board 
 member of the UK Civil Society Women’s Alliance. She holds a PhD in Inte
 rnational Relations from the London School of Economics\, where she is a G
