DESCRIPTION:This seminar will be broadcast live online\, pleas
e register in advance for this meeting:\n\nhttps:/

l receive a confirmation email containing informat
ion about joining the meeting (including iCal) fro
m Zoom.\n\nPlease use your institutional email add
ress for registration (if possible) and complete y
our registration at least 30 minutes prior to the
seminar so that you will receive the confirmation
email/access link before the seminar. Your registr
ation will be manually checked and approved.\n\nGe
netics teaches us that for highly-dimensional omic
technologies sample size is key\, and that necess
ary sample sizes can best be archived via meta-ana
lyses. This poses a challenge for metabolomics due
to its relative nature of measurement\, the lack
of a standardized metabolite nomenclature and diff
erences in metabolome coverage between platforms.
 The Consortium Of METabolomics Studies (COMETS)\;
has developed a novel workflow to deal with these
issues for the first time. I will discuss our expe
riences with COMETS and how we have leveraged thes
e developments to conduct largest and most compreh
ensive metabolomics of BMI study to date\, includi
ng >100\,000 adults from 43 cohorts worldwide.
