DESCRIPTION:Any economist can tell you that whatever we do\, w
 e can’t rely on unlimited resources. Fortunately\,
  Dr Rachel Glennerster is not just any economist.\
 n\nDr Glennerster started her career at HM treasur
 y and the International Monetary Fund. She has dev
 oted her time to finding cost-effective ways to al
 leviate global poverty. As Executive Director of t
 he Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab at MIT\, 
 Dr. Glennerster helped establish the Deworm the Wo
 rld Initiative\, a GiveWell-recommended charity wh
 ich assists in deworming millions of children a ye
 ar. Now Chief Economist of the Department for Inte
 rnational Development in the UK\, Dr. Glennerster 
 is aiming to help DFID make effective use of evide
 nce to in the design of its programs and in its ad
 vice to governments in the “global south.”\n\nShe 
 has co-authored the books Strong Medicine: Creatin
 g Incentives for Pharmaceutical Research on Neglec
 ted Diseases\, and Running Randomized Evaluations:
  A Practical Guide.\n\nCome along to see how acade
