Abstract
The Queen’s Medal for Poetry (2012) is one of John Agard’s many awards for poetry. Originally from Guyana, John has made his home in the UK for many years. As a popular poet for children, teenagers and adults alike, John is in great demand internationally as a performer. He is a founding member of the Caribbean Poetry Project based at the Centre for Commonwealth Education, Cambridge Faculty of Education. Some recent publications include Travel Light, Travel Dark (2013), Goldilocks on CCTV (2011) and Half-Caste and Other Poems(2005).
