This talk has been canceled/deleted In this talk I will give an overview of the Nonhydrostatic Unified Model of the Atmosphere (NUMA). NUMA solves the fully compressible nonhydrostatic equations with the goal to have it unified across various fronts including: applications (local-area and global modeling); numerics (using both continuous and discontinuous Galerkin methods); time-integration (explicit and implicit-explicit methods); iterative solvers and preconditioners (using a suite of these); grid generation (using both conforming and non-conforming grids); and finally, parallelization (using both CPU and GPU based parallelization). In this talk, we will describe what we mean by each of these components and will report on the status of each of these components. The work that we shall describe will set the stage for the work we wish to carry out during the stay of my group at the Newton Institute.
