BID - Quantum field theory with boundaries, impurities, and defects

Majorana zero modes promise non-Abelian operations for fault-tolerant quantum information. I will link the minimal theory (Kitaev chain, fusion, projective braiding) to recent experiments from our collaborations, highlighting non-local signatures and error analysis. I’ll briefly note routes beyond Ising, towards D(S3) anyons and their power for universal quantum computation.
