The problem of determining the extreme off-diagonal Ramsey numbers R(3,k) has seen steady progress over the past century, with many of the advances introducing important new tools to the field. In this talk, I will survey this progress and discuss some recent developments on the problem. This talk is based on joint work with Marcelo Campos, Marcus Michelen, and Julian Sahasrabudhe.

This talk is part of the Combinatorics Seminar series.
