An afternoon in commemoration of Oliver Heaviside with three talks: 3pm – Coffee and tea 3:30pm – “The life of Heaviside and his work on telegraphy” – Prof Hugh Griffiths FRS , UCL 4:20pm – “Maxwell redressed: Oliver Heaviside’s path to Maxwell’s equations” – Prof Bruce Hunt, University of Texas at Austin 5:10pm – “The great quaternion war and Heaviside’s vector calculus” – Prof Peter Davidson, University of Cambridge The talks are spaced such there will be time between the end of one talk and the beginning of the next for attendees to enter and exit the venue, so please do come along even for just one talk!
